AKRON—Smithers Rapra will sponsor the Association of Rubber Products Manufacturers, providing special benefits related to its services to all ARPM members.
Smithers said it will provide product performance testing, analytical and physical material testing and consulting services.
“The ARPM is excited to introduce Smithers Rapra and its expert testing services as a new membership benefit,” ARPM Executive Director Troy Nix said in a statement. “Testing for rubber materials and products was one of the key services our members indicated as desirable. This new partnership with Smithers Rapra strengthens the association's offering and resource pool for our members.”
Jesse Roeck, vice president and general manager of Smithers Rapra, said in a statement that Smithers' expertise in rubber and polymer testing services will benefit member companies as they develop innovative, high quality rubber products.
Smithers Rapra operates several laboratories in North America with a wide variety of testing and consulting services, including material chemistry, product durability testing and tire and winter testing. The firm serves the automotive, tire, rubber and polymer products, aerospace, medical device, and pharmaceuticals industries.
Smithers Rapra is part of the Smithers Group, which is headquartered in Akron.
The ARPM was established in 2010 and includes more than 60 members comprising of rubber business leaders.
