Master Bond Inc. has introduced a 28-page catalog on adhesives, sealants and coatings for the aerospace industry.

Master Bond said the catalog is complete with performance and processing data on its line of epoxies, silicones, UV curing compounds and specialty systems for the aerospace industry. These products ensure reliability in the assembly of aircraft structures, components, interiors and MRO applications, Master Bond said. They are used for structural bonding, sealing and gap filling.

These advanced adhesive, sealant and coating systems feature many outstanding performance properties, Master Bond claimed, including toughness, high temperature resistance, cryogenic serviceability, thermal/electrical conductivity and excellent bond strength to both similar and dissimilar substrates. Specific grades are halogen free, meet NASA low outgassing specifications and are UL 94V-0 rated for flame retardancy, according to the comapny.

This catalog is available for download in PDF format or in print. It can be requested here.

Innovative Polymers Inc. has released Innothane IE-3090 polyurethane designed for casting colored, highly contoured parts with outstanding durability.

Innovative Polymers Inc. has released Innothane IE-3090, a polyurethane specifically designed for casting colored, highly contoured parts with outstanding durability.

Innovative Polymers said Innothane IE-3090 is ideal for molding textured climbing holds and highly detailed, colorful rocks and coral used in aquarium décor, and it also is suited for building a broad range of components used in themed construction projects.

Innothane IE-3090 polyurethane is a mercury-free resin system that can be demolded after curing for about 60 minutes at room temperature. Parts cast from the new product have a Shore hardness of 75D, tensile strength of 8,300 psi, flexural strength of 8,600 psi and heat deflection temperature of 138°F to maintain dimensional accuracy even when exposed to temperature extremes. The polyurethane can be pigmented to virtually any color; cured surfaces can also be painted.

For product samples and more information about Innothane IE-3090 polyurethane, e-mail: [email protected] or visit www.innovative-polymers.com.

    PS-Elastomers'-Viprene-TPV-for-use-in-automotive-exterior-applications.

APS Elastomers has revealed its Viprene TPV, a thermoplastic vulcanizate for use in automotive exterior applications.

APS said the Viprene TPVs are a cost-effective, lightweight alternative for use in mirror mounts, mud guards and splash shields, bumpers, antenna bezels, and gaskets, seals and grommets.

Available in natural or black pellets with a Shore hardness range of 35A-50D, Viprene TPVs provide flexibility over a wide temperature range and resistance to degradation from water, oil and grease. APS said Viprene TPVs offer a better compression set, are fatigue resistant, dimensionally stable and offer heat aging stability, low temperature flexibility and excellent UV and ozone stability.
