CERRITOS, Calif.—R.D. Abbott Co. Inc. has hired six employees since April.
The firm appointed Doug Bower as director of account management; Tom Jenkins as senior product manager; Jim Ryan and Dave Carrell as account managers; Jose Elias as lab technician; and Dulce Sanchez as document control specialist.
Bower has more than 40 years of experience in the elastomer industry. He most recently served as executive director for Manufacturers Agents National Association and held various sales, marketing and channel management roles with Dow Corning Corp., a career that spanned more than 15 years.
Bower also has held executive positions with Bryant Rubber Corp., Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd. and GE Silicones.
Jenkins brings more than 30 years of experience in engineering, sales, marketing, quality and operations in the medical and commercial industries to R.D. Abbott.
Prior to joining the form, he spent the last 37 years with Parker Hannifin Corp., formerly A.C. Hoffman Engineering Inc. and Hi-Tec Rubber Inc. While there he developed and implemented new elastomeric molding technologies, developed patented components and devices, moved manufacturing operations into a new molding facility and doubled both sales and profits in three years, according to R.D. Abbott.
Ryan is a 25-year veteran of the rubber industry and worked at Zeon Chemicals for 18 years prior to joining R.D. Abbott, spending his last 12 years in sales. Prior to becoming Zeon's director of sales, Ryan worked with HNBR and NBR in their technical service department.
He also spent time with American Fuel Cells and Coated Fabrics as their senior chemist.
Carrell has more than 30 years of professional sales, management and marketing experience in the elastomer industry. Carrell began his career as the sales and marketing manager for General Seal Co. Ltd., then spent more than 10 years with West American Rubber Co. L.L.C., holding various engineering, sales and marketing management positions.
After WARCO, he was the director of business development for Bryant Rubber Corp. and returned to General Seal in 2002 to serve as its CEO and president.
Elias served in the U.S. Marine Corp for seven years as a field radio operator prior to joining R.D. Abbott.
Sanchez has more than seven years of rubber industry experience and earned quality engineer certification from the American Society for Quality.
