DETROIT—Chrysler Group L.L.C. has selected 20-inch versions of the Goodyear Eagle RS-A2 and Pirelli P Zero Nero as standard original equipment fitments for the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 and the Dodge Challenger SRT/HEMI Hellcat.
The special high-performance models will debut later this year as homages to the Challenger's original muscle car heritage, Goodyear said, while the car's new driver-focused cockpit is intended for true performance enthusiasts.
The SRT 392, equipped with a 6.2-liter, 485-hp Hemi V8, will come standard with the Eagle RS-A2 in 245/45ZR20 mounted on SRT-exclusive “77” eight-spoke 20x9-inch forged-aluminum “Hyper Black” wheels. Goodyear's Eagle F1 Supercar Three-Season tires are offered as an alternative for “serious grip and handling,” according to Dodge and SRT engineers.
The SRT Hellcat, equipped with a supercharged version of the Hemi rated at 600-plus hp, will ride on Y-rated P275/40ZR20 P Zero Nero all-season radials mounted on SRT-exclusive “Slingshot” split-seven spoke 20x9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a matte black finish. Pirelli P Zero tires with three-season performance driving are optional, Chrysler said.
Also available on the SRT Hellcat are 20x9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a Brass Monkey/dark bronze finish, Chrysler said.
Goodyear's Eagle RS-A2 features all-season, high-performance traction with an asymmetric tread design; the Eagle F1 Supercar tire is a race-inspired model large tread blocks and a unique tread rubber compound for improved dry handling.
