FINDLAY, Ohio—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. named Brad Hughes as president, international operations, and Hal Miller as executive adviser to the CEO, effective July 2.
Hughes will continue to serve as chief financial officer in addition to his new position while Cooper conducts a search for his successor.
Cooper said Miller will be assisting the firm in the process to determine the future ownership of the Cooper Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co. Ltd. joint venture. He previously served as president of Cooper's International Tire Division.
In January, the firm reached an agreement with its joint venture partner—Chengshan Group Co. Ltd.—and the labor union representing the workers at the facility establishing a formal process for determining the future ownership of CCT and resolving other key issues.
Hughes joined Cooper in 2009 as CFO after a 23-year career at Ford Motor Co. where he served as global product development controller at its headquarters in Dearborn, Mich.; finance director for Ford's South America operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil; director of European business strategy and implementation in Cologne, Germany; and other corporate finance and treasury positions with Ford.
Before joining Ford, Cooper worked for Fruehauf Finance Corp., in Detroit.
Miller joined Cooper in 2002 as vice president, corporate planning and control before being promoted to president of the firm's International Tire Division in 2004. Prior to joining Cooper, he spent 16 years with Eaton Corp. in Toledo, Ohio. His most recent position with Eaton was vice president and general manager for the fluid power hose and plastic operations.
Prior to Eaton, Miller held positions for 10 years in public accounting with experience in mergers and acquisitions.
