CHICAGO—John Crane Group was awarded a three-year performance plus reliability program contract for Suzano Pulp and Paper.
The agreement covers professional field services and management of 1,700 rotating equipment assets to increase efficiency at four Suzano production sites in Brazil.

Performance Plus is John Crane's premier service level program. According to the firm, it focuses on improving efficiency and reducing operating costs for customers. Benefits include asset management to lower total cost of ownership and reliability services to improve mechanical seal performance.
John Crane said it has 15 years of experience and implemented more than 170 performance plus reliability program agreements with 150 reliability engineers and technicians placed full time at customer sites to maintain equipment, perform daily maintenance and provide technical expertise.
Suzano Pulp and Paper is part of the Suzano Group, which according to John Crane is the second-largest eucalyptus pulp producer in the world and a leader in the paper market in Brazil and South America.
John Crane specializes in engineered technology, supplying engineered products and services to energy services customers and other major process industries. The company designs and manufactures a variety of products including mechanical seals, couplings, bearings and artificial lift equipment. It is part of the Smiths Group, which employs about 23,000 people in more than 50 countries.
