WASHINGTON—Qingdao Xiyingmen Double Camel Tyre Co. Ltd. and Lionshead Specialty Tire & Wheel L.L.C. are recalling 4,000 Vail Sport ST LH 99 tubeless trailer tires, size 225/75D15, because the load range designation is missing from their sidewalls.
The tires were manufactured between April 2012 and February 2013, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
These tires are the same type, size and brand as the 39,589 tires Double Camel and Lionshead recalled earlier, and their manufacture dates overlap those of the other recalled tires. The larger recall involved tires that could become unseated from their rims, leading to tire failure and accidents.
The new recall will begin in June, NHTSA said. Meanwhile, owners may call Lionshead at 574-533-6169.
