DICKSON, Tenn.—Zinc Oxide L.L.C. has reached a distribution agreement with ChemSpec L.L.C. to distribute its products regionally to the Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania rubber compounding markets.
Zinc Oxide supplies zinc oxide materials using the French processing method at its new plant in Dickson. The 180,000-sq.-ft. building sits on 50 acres and is ISO certified. It will have the capacity to produce 40,000 metric tons of the chemical.
Zinc Oxide said its plant soon will be operational and will process zinc oxide from high grade and special high grade zinc metal, as well as from recycled zinc. The company will offer grades designed for the rubber, tire, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, oil additives, ceramics, electronics, glass, plastics, paint and coatings, tape and adhesives, and fertilizer markets.
The firm was established in 2013.
“ChemSpec is the first company to be named as a Zinc Oxide distributor, broadening our geographic coverage and adding depth to our customer support,” said Ed Smith, Zinc Oxide's vice president of sales and marketing.
ChemSpec is an Ohio-based specialty chemical and polymer distributor that sells product primarily into the rubber, adhesive and sealant, plastic, and ink markets.
