ULSAN, South Korea—Plasma Coatings, a division of American Roller Co., completed an on site coating application product for a large petroleum company in Ulsan.
The firm said the project involved coating a large, low pressure vessel, with coating for non-stick and corrosion resistance.
Plasma Coatings said the vessel was 13 feet in diameter by 33 feet long. The confined space, along with coordinating an international team of resources from the U.S., Japan and South Korea, were significant challenges the firm overcame.
“Before work even began, our focus was to be prepared for anything and everything since we would not have access to U.S. resources once in South Korea,” said Plant Manager Gary Carlo. “It was a great effort by all to accomplish this.”
The team included U.S. employees along with crew members from the firm's licensed applicator in Japan—Kanmeta Engineering Co. Ltd.
Plasma Coatings has manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and China and is a division of American Roller, who operates several facilities within the U.S.
