DEARBORN, Mich.—Wolverine Advanced Materials has acquired the global original equipment and aftermarket brake unit of Material Sciences Corp.
The transaction closed on May 31. Terms were not disclosed.
The deal expands Wolvervine's global market presence while adding to its portfolio, according to the company. Grant Beard, chairman, CEO, and president of Wolverine, said the deal will “strengthen Wolverine as a company,” as both companies say they have experience in noise, vibration and harshness solutions.
Wolverine Advanced Materials, headquartered in Dearborn, manufactures high-performance specialty elastomer-coated metals for the automotive brake, noise, vibration and harshness, and sealing industries. It is owned by Wynnchurch Capital Partners, a mid-market private equity firm.
