HOUSTON—GHX Industrial L.L.C. has acquired the operations and assets of Hose Specialty & Supply Co. L.L.C.
Included in the purchase are five facilities in Louisiana: one each in New Iberia, Lafayette and Shreveport, and two in Harvey, including Melville Equipment Co., a hose and fitting specialty store that focuses on the sale of hose and fittings to industrial customers in the New Orleans area.
Based in Harvey, Hose Specialty is a fabricator, assembler and distributor of fluid transfer and other products for oil and gas, marine and original equipment manufacturers. It has a strong presence in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. The firm offers a broad range of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid conveyance products, valves, and accessories produced by various manufacturers.
Additional services it provides includes custom assembly and sub assembly, knitting and vendor managed inventory along with 24 hour emergency services to its customers.
Hose Specialty will operate under the GHX family of companies and will continue servicing its current customer base, said Richard Harrison, president of GHX, which is a subsidiary of United Distribution Group. Jimmy Strickland, the founder of Hose Specialty, has been named region manager for GHX at the newly acquired locations.
