KYOTO, Japan—The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers has elected East West Copolymer L.L.C. to its association.
“The IISRP is very proud to have East West Copolymer as our newest producer member in the Americas,” said James McGraw, managing director and CEO of the IISRP.
The firm is formerly Lion Copolymer's 115,000 metric ton emulsion plant in Baton Rouge, La., which shut down in late 2013 only to reopen as East West Copolymer in March.
Greg Nelson, president and CEO of East West Copolymer, announced the firm's plans to join IISRP and its annual general meeting in Kyoto.
“We are delighted to have Greg and his team back into the IISRP and to once again see the Baton Rouge site up and running,” McGraw said.
The IISRP is an international non-profit trade association with more than 60 corporate members in 22 countries. The association said its members produce 80 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber.
