FAIRLAWN, Ohio—In this video, Jeff Salamon of Quality Synthetic Rubber Inc. speaks at the 2014 International Silicone Conference in Fairlawn, Ohio, about determining the use of FEA tools in the development process.
“There's really a methodology to be used in order to understand whether your FEA is going to be a good predictor, or whether you're just creating a picture and an analysis that completes,” he said. Both the conditions need to be known, and the inputs need to be correct, otherwise the results will be sacrificed, he said.
“You have to have a complete focus on what you are trying to optimize,” Salamon said. “If you lose focus of that, then the comparative analysis may not get you what you need.”
