AVON LAKE, Ohio—PolyOne Corp.'s long-serving senior vice president and chief information and human resources officer will retire in June, the company disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Kenneth M. Smith will retire from Avon Lake-based PolyOne effective June 6. He told the company his plans on April 30. Smith has been serving as PolyOne's chief information officer since the company was formed in 2000 and had been with BF Goodrich/Geon since 1989, according to his company bio. He took on the role of human resources officer for PolyOne in 2003.
PolyOne said in the filing that it hired Ana G. Rodriguez as senior vice president, chief human resources officer, on May 5. Rodriguez will take over Smith's human resources-related roles. Rodriguez most recently served as the senior vice president for global human resources at Molex Inc.
Smith's information technology-related role will be the responsibility of PolyOne's executive vice president and chief financial officer Bradley Richardson, company spokesman Kyle Rose said in an email. He added that PolyOne does not intend to hire a new CIO at this time.
