ATLANTA—Synthomer L.L.C. agreed to a U.S. distribution contract with Omya Inc.
The contract takes effect July 1, making Omya responsible for the nationwide distribution for all emulsion polymers sold by Synthomer's construction and coatings and functional polymer business units.
According to Synthomer, the contract is an extension of an existing agreement between the firms. Synthomer said the firms have worked together for almost 10 years.
Synthomer said the major markets covered by the agreement are coatings, building materials, adhesives, textiles and bonded fibers.
Omya is a worldwide distributor of specialty chemical products focused on industrial and life science applications.
Synthomer manufactures emulsion polymers serving the industrial, automotive, consumer and health care industries worldwide. The firm was founded in 1962 and employs 2,000 across 20 locations in 11 countries.
