SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Norres Schlauchtechnik GmbH has selected a facility in South Bend as its first U.S. plant.
The German industrial hose manufacturer will invest about $1.87 million to buy, renovate and equip the 30,000 sq.-foot facility, where it hopes to launch operations at the end of May. It plans to have a work force of about 32.
Norres develops, manufactures and sells industrial hose for the pharmaceutical, food production and plastics industries.
It employs about 250 at its plants around the world. The company said it will begin hiring engineering, production, sales and administrative personnel at the new site in the coming months.
