Ford's 2015 Lincoln Navigator will use Pirelli's Scorpion Verde All Season tire.

ROME, Ga.—Ford Motor Co. has selected a 22-inch version of the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season tire as an original equipment fitment for the 2015 Lincoln Navigator and Ford Explorer SUVs.

Ford is equipping the Navigator with 2.3- and 3.5-liter turbocharged versions of its EcoBoost V-6 engine for 2015. OE tire fitments range from the standard 19 inch to optional 22 inch on various models, according to Ford.

The Navigator Reserve Package models offer 22-inch, polished aluminum wheels, as well as optional power moonroof and chrome-accented running boards, Ford said. Pirelli said the fitment size for the Navigator/Explorer is 285/45R22 114H XL.

The Scorpion Verde All Season is considered a green performance tire developed specifically for SUVs and crossovers, Pirelli said. The tire is made from eco-compatible materials.

An optimized tread pattern design helps cut rolling resistance for reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as well as lower noise for improved comfort, Pirelli said. Other features include longitudinal siping and a large contact patch for greater grip in wet and winter conditions.
