Artist Chakaia Booker used hundreds of scrap tires to create sculptures along the streets of Washington D.C.. Booker is an internationally renowned artist specializing in exploring the artistic potential of recycled tires. The titles of her New York Avenue Sculpture Project works include “Gridlock,” “Take Out” and “Pass the Buck.”
