EPE, Netherlands—VMI Group plans to add a factory along with a research, development and engineering facility in Epe as part of an expansion project aimed at matching increased sales and a growing customer base.
In addition, VMI will restructure existing buildings within the city to enhance lean production, the firm said. It's also working with authorities in China to expand its facilities in the country.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The new plant will give the company another 46,275 square feet of production floor space and the new R&D and engineering facility enough work space for another 150 to 200 engineers, the firm said.
“These developments are testament to VMI's long history of expertise, innovation and success,” according to President and CEO Harm Voortman. “Our ongoing efforts to stay ahead of the competition have inspired us to develop and build the best performing machines in the world.”
The expansion project attests to the company's “long-term commitment to meeting the demands of our customers and will allow us to raise the bar for our customers even higher,” he said.
