BETHESDA, Md.—The Adhesion Society has signed a three-year agreement with the Adhesive and Sealant Council to manage the society's annual meeting, oversee its membership effort and serve as the council's home office.
This contract is an extension of the one-year contract between the council and the society that ran from June 30, 2013 to July 1, 2014. “The success of the one-year contract allowed the society and council leadership to feel comfortable with a longer-term arrangement,” the council said in a news release.
Earlier this year, the council introduced the society to a new database, providing the society with a method of tracking membership more closely, according to the council. The benefits of the new database include better monitoring of meeting attendance, membership renewals, certificate distribution and financials.
Council President Matthew E. Croson also credited the society with allowing the council to provide members with new benefits in 2014, including an updated registration process, enhanced onsite program guides and a new membership certificate program.
Founded in 1978, the Adhesion Society is a professional society devoted to all aspects of adhesion research. The Adhesive and Sealant Council is the adhesive and sealant industry's largest trade association, with members including 3M, Ashland Inc. and H.B. Fuller.
