LONDON—Analyst TechNavio expects the Global Latex Mattress market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 14.9 percent from 2014-18.
The report said the need for environmentally friendly products, which reduce the risk of allergies and other contaminant-related diseases, will be a key driver, and high cost as a potential limiter.
TechNavio's report, the “Global Latex Mattress Market 2014-18,” covers the Americas, the Asia-Pacific and the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. It includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market.
According to the analyst, the need for vendors to produce innovative latex mattresses is leading to increased expenditure on research and development. The mattresses are heavy, costly and considered to be less comfortable than memory foam mattresses.
“In an effort to address these issues, vendors are introducing developments such as split firmness and crib mattresses into the market,” TechNavio said. “Latex International uses its patented phase-change material in latex mattresses, with a view to enabling the sleeper to maintain a consistent body temperature. These innovations are expected to increase adoption of latex mattresses during the forecast period.”
