HOUSTON—The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers will conduct a lifecycle assessment of four major elastomers, including ESBR, SSBY, BR and SBS.
More than 30 plant sites will participate in the global project, the IISRP said.
"This project further emphasizes our focus on environmental health and safety issues, which has been forefront in our mission," said James L. McGraw, the IISRP managing director and CEO.
The project will be conducted by PRé Consultants based in the Netherlands with offices worldwide.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit trade association with more than 50 corporate members in over 22 countries. The association said its members produce 80 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber.
