BERWYN, Pa.—Styron L.L.C. plans to expand its latex capacity at the company's Zhangjigang, China, production facility with the addition of a new reactor.
It said the expansion primarily will support growing demand in China's paper and paperboard industries, which is forecast to grow in the next five years.
The new reactor is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2015. It will be Styron's fourth reactor at the China plant. In addition to the paper and paperboard sector, it will supply the carpet industry while complementing Styron's other latex production facilities in Korea and Indonesia.
