MOGADORE, Ohio—Portage Precision Polymers Inc. has promoted Mark Bennett to business development manager.
Formerly, Bennett was a production scheduler and customer service representative.
He will be responsible for managing the customer service department, working with the director of sales and marketing to develop new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with customers and reviewing and communicating customer needs, the firm said.
Bennett has been with the company for more than nine years, serving as a lab technician and production associate. Prior to joining Portage Precision Polymers, he worked as a police officer in Braceville Township, Ohio for more than nine years, eventually achieving the rank of sergeant.
"Mark has played an integral role in our organization for several years," said John Truitt, director of sales and marketing. "In this new position, he will be able to further the company's strategic focus of bringing new business to Portage Precision Polymers in a managed and timely manner by working with our business unit sales, market development and technical support functions."
Portage Precision Polymers supplies custom mixed elastomer compounds to rubber and silicone manufacturers throughout North America. It serves industries such as automotive, construction, oil and gas, agriculture, railroad and piping.
