WEINHEIM, Germany—The Freudenberg Group is investing $16.6 million in its Brazil facilities, primarily for nonwoven and seal production.
The firm's sites in Jacarei and Diadema—located in the federal state of Sao Paulo, Brazil—are to receive the funds for innovations, capacity expansion and general process optimization. Implementation of the project began at the beginning of 2014 and will be completed in the coming weeks.
"Brazil is one of the Freudenberg Group's strategic growth markets where we would like to gain greater market share, said Mohsen Sohi, speaker of the Freudenberg Group board of management.
The firm is commissioning a new production line for thermoplastic high-performance components in Diadema together with its Japanese partner, Nippon Oil Seal Industry Co. Ltd. The firm said six state of the art machines were installed at the beginning of the year.
