MIDDLEBURY, Conn.—Addivant L.L.C. has completed the first stage in a series of capacity expansions to its production facility in Pyongtaek, South Korea.
The capacity of Alkanox 240, a phosphate antioxidant, has been increased by 40 percent. Further expansion is scheduled to be completed by early 2015, the firm said.
"This expansion is part of the overall Addivant 2018 strategy to invest and strengthen our global manufacturing sites to be in the position to meet our customers growing demands for polymer additives," said Peter Smith, Addivant president and CEO.
Smith said Alakanox 240, Anox 20 and Anox PP18 are key building blocks of the firm's Anox NDB product line.
Addivant's portfolio of specialty additives includes antioxidants, light stabilizers, rubber additives, polymer modifiers, polymerization inhibitors and intermediates. The company has 11 plants on five continents along with research, manufacturing and sales facilities around the world.
