MUNICH, Germany—Wacker Chemie A.G. and Slovenia-based silicone compounder Gomline d.o.o have agreed on co-branding, ready-to-use silicone rubber compounds.
Gomline now can use "Based on Elastosil" quality labels for its own silicone compounds made of Wacker raw materials. The Elastosil trademark was introduced nearly 60 years ago, and according to Wacker, it is one of its most successful brands worldwide.
Elastosil covers a wide range of silicone rubber products that the company says offers extremely diverse properties. They are used in a variety of industries and products such as shower heads, tubing and cable construction as well as in household items such as flexible ice cube molds.
Gomline supplies customers in Solvenia and Southeast Europe with ready-to-use silicone compounds, which are usually formulated locally and modified to suit customer specifications.
"Gomline employs experienced compounding experts who not only know how to formulate high-quality silicone compounds, but also have excellent knowledge of their customers' needs," said Peter Summo, head of Wacker's Engineering Silicones business unit.
