YORK, Pa.—Engel North America Inc. added industry specialists for the packaging and medical industries and assigned new members to the Engel West sales team.
Jeff Hershey was appointed to the new position of marketing manager, North America business unit medical. Hershey has been with the company for more than 20 years and has held a variety of positions, including inside sales coordinator, account manager, national account manager and most recently regional sales manager, west.
Tony Thompson will become the marketing manager, North America business unit packaging. Thompson recently joined Engel with extensive experience in the plastics industry. He started his career in 1982 as a global service and after-care technician for an injection molding machine manufacturer. He held that position until he came to the U.S. in 2007 and became the technical service manager of the company's U.S. division.
Each will be responsible for promoting products to the medical and packaging markets.
Markus Lettau also was promoted to Engel regional sales manager west from his previous position of account manager and product specialist. He will work out of Engel's technical center in Corona, Calif., providing sales and technical support to customers in California, Arizona, New Mexico, the Maquiladora region, West Texas, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the injection molding industry, including five years as director of sales and application engineering for custom injection molder Empire Precision.
The Engel Group designs and manufactures molding machines and parts-handling automation. Engel divides its market into five segments—automotive, medical, packaging, technical and teletronics. Teams within each market segment develop products and technologies that concentrate on the specific needs of each market.
