COLOGNE, Germany—Sonderhoff Holding GmbH, which makes sealing equipment, teamed with Siemens A.G. at the K 2013 fair to demonstrate high-level robotic sealing technology.
A Sonderhoff DM 403 mixing and dosing system blended a two-component polyurethane-based foam sealing system, exactly dosing and applying it to a large part. Siemens' Simotion D 445, a new motion control technology, coordinated the axis movements of the Sonderhoff linear robot as well as all switching processes at the mix head, and all functions of servomotors, mixers and pumps, via Profinet at a cycle of just two milliseconds.
Sonderhoff, of Cologne, is targeting a variety of markets for the automated DM 403 sealing and bonding system, including electronic cabinets and automotive, Florian Kampf, team marketing, said at the K show exhibit.
The DSM 402/403 line of multi-component mixing and dosing systems can also run silicones, epoxy resins and other reactive polymer materials.
Sonderhoff USA Corp. is in Elgin, Ill.
