QUINCY, Ill.—Titan International Inc. has added Gary Cowger to its board of directors to replace Mitchell Quain, who retired from the board effective Dec. 31 after serving for 17 years.
The firm said Cowger brings knowledge that complements Titan's move into a global manufacturer of wheels and tires. He is the chairman and CEO of GLC Ventures L.L.C., a management consultancy on business, manufacturing and technology strategy. He began his career with General Motors in 1965 and remained with the company until his retirement in December 2009. He was most recently group vice president of General Motors global manufacturing, global manufacturing engineering and labor relations.
Maurice Taylor, Titan chairman and CEO, said Cowger has been involved with Titan since the company went public in 1993. "With Gary's global manufacturing background, he can provide the pros and cons of investing in manufacturing in various countries," Taylor said.
