INDIANAPOLIS—The Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers represented the interests of the U.S. by sending a delegation to the ISO/TC41 Technical Committee meeting in Berlin from Nov. 4-7.
The U.S. and the ARPM was awarded with hosting the 2015 Technical Committee meeting.
The six delegates were part of the nine participating nations along with 14 other observing countries that were active in the main committee and three subcommittee meetings.
“About 99.9 percent of the work comes out of the subcommittees and account for some 80 standards,” said Jerry Lukavich, ARPM international committee coordinator. “They are responsible for maintaining, updating and developing new standards as well as eliminating some when needed.”
Lukavich said the ARPM came out very well and that the meetings went “surprisingly smooth.”
The ARPM is managed by rubber business leaders and has more than 50 members since it was established in 2010.
