TERNITZ, Austria—Maplan GmbH, a manufacturer of elastomer injection molding machines, has expanded its management team and outlined plans for further growth.
The Austrian company issued a "New Strategic Orientation" that involves "investing in specialists, strengthening sales and service structure, concentration on core business and expanding manufacturing and development capabilities."
Maplan said it intends to develop new markets—with Turkey, India, China and Brazil among their priorities. At the same time, it said it will modify and expand service to customers in Europe and the U.S. over the next few years.
A new site in Austria will be opened to double production capacity. The exact location has not yet been revealed.
"Quality made in Austria is what has made us strong—and this will remain a key factor in the future," said Wolfgang Meyer, CEO.
Maplan was founded as an engineering and plant construction firm in 1970 in southern Vienna. The company manufactures more than 250 vertical and horizontal elastomer injection molding machines per year. It employs 160 people at its headquarters in Ternitz (with 200 people worldwide).
