The 5-K Walk/Run race on Oct. 9 during the ACS Rubber Division's Cleveland meeting drew a big turnout—nearly 70 participants.
Fast company: Hotaling, Brooks win Rubber Div. race
Leading the way were Galen Brooks and Elizabeth Hotaling. Brooks, was the fastest man, posting a time of 21:02, and Hotaling was the winner among the women contestants, finishing at 28.12.
The race has taken place at each of the division's spring and fall meetings since April 1994, when Tom Dendinger, then-division chairman from Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., founded it as the "Chairman's Challenge."
Dendinger, incidentally, received the division's Distinguished Service Award in Cleveland for his many years of work on the organization's behalf
