NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas' Bandag retreading facility in Oxford, N.C., has been named a Carolina Star Worksite by the North Carolina Department of Labor.
The designation is the state's highest honor in health and safety, and goes to organizations that demonstrate exceptional safety and health systems, Bridgestone said.
The Carolina Star program is patterned after the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program Bridgestone said, which promotes and encourages effective worksite-based safety and health.
Nine Bridgestone Americas facilities have achieved OSHA's highest honor.
