LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany—BASF S.E. has extended production of its "cost-efficient" binders based on styrene butadiene and styrene-acrylics to its facility in Hamina, Finland. The Hamina supply will serve the northern European and Russian markets.
The binders have been supplied primarily to customers in Central Europe from BASF's site in Ludwigshafen since 2012. BASF now can supply the whole European paper industry, the company said.
Andreas Tuerk, BASF senior vice president for paper chemicals in Europe, said the company continues to invest in the product line, helping to provide paper manufacturers with cost reductions.
