KOMAKI, Japan—Tokai Rubber Industries has built a housing complex at its site in Komaki to develop vibration products by carrying out testing in real-life scenarios.
The complex, which Tokai calls a "housing tech labo," will serve as a testing facility for residential housing-related products and also as an exhibition facility for customers to note the functionality of the company's construction products, "while experiencing them first-hand," TRI said in a statement.
Within the model home, TRI has used products such as its viscoelastic rubber 'TRC damper,' a vibration control system that reduces the damage to wooden houses during an earthquake. The component can be installed during the renovation of existing homes, as well as in new homes.
The building also showcases anti-vibration devices used to reduce shaking caused by traffic, as well as products used to reduce noise from heavy floor impact within the house.
