MANCHESTER, England—Manchester United soccer club has announced a sponsorship agreement with a second tire manufacturer—this time the Taiwanese Federal Corp.
During a launch event in Russia, one of Federal's key markets, the club announced a three-year agreement that will see the company become the UK Premier League champions' official tire partner in Russia and Taiwan.
The launch took place at the Interauto Show in Moscow, and was led by Jamie Ma, Federal CEO.
Based in Taiwan, Federal was established in 1954 and now produces more than 238,000 million tires annually. Specializing in high performance, 4x4/SUV and motorsport tires, Federal has the capacity to produce more than 28 000 tires a day from its factories in Taiwan and China.
Manchester United's group managing director, Richard Arnold, said, "The Club has almost 18 million followers in Russia and with a third of Taiwanese football fans following United, we are able to provide Federal with a sizeable audience to engage with."
