HENRY, Ill.—Emerald Polymer Additives has completed a series of process control upgrades for its U.S.-based rubber accelerators product line produced at its plant in Henry.
The business group of Emerald Performance Materials L.L.C. invested in the upgrades to help improve productivity and facilitate development of new technologies at the site, company officials said at the International Latex Conference in Fairlawn, Ohio.
More employees have been added by the company because of the improved process. The company also will expand the facility's process engineering staff.
"Emerald's activities in debottlenecking and process optimization facilitate our continued growth as we adapt to current and future needs in the global marketplace," according to Frank Prolizo, vice president of marketing for the Polymer Additives and CVC business groups.
Emerald has been producing the rubber accelerator line at the Henry plant for more than 30 years.
