TIVOLI, Italy—Industrial tire maker Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. will make its Brawler range of large off-the-road solid tires available worldwide.
Previously, the range, which includes tires for waste, recycling and underground mining, was primarily a North American product.
Trelleborg acquired the range in its purchase last year of Maine Industrial Tire L.L.C.
"Brawler is particularly suited to the waste and recycling industries, where many customers are switching from either pneumatics or foam-filled pneumatics to solid tires on large applications," said Roberto Zampieri, construction business development manager for Trelleborg Wheel Systems in Europe. "Sites often operate 24/7 and require tires that last longer, need little maintenance and deliver the best total cost of ownership over their whole life.
"The Brawler Solidflex range … uses a patented elliptical hole pattern in the side wall, allowing for much greater deflection over broken terrain—vital for applications where drivers are working on rough ground."
The Brawler range already is used across North America, according to Trelleborg, in the scrap metal and waste industries as well as in underground mining. Machinery applications include loaders, backhoes, skid steers, telehandlers and material handlers.
Trelleborg produces the Brawler line at its plant in Hebei, China, where the company invested recently "in accordance with our group global standards for manufacturing excellence," the firm said.
Sizes offered range from 20-inch skid steer up to 35-inch for wheel loaders.
Brawler will be on display at the Kal Tire stand, number OA210A, at the Resource Efficiency and Waste Management Solution exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England from Sept. 10-12.
