UNION GROVE, Ill.—American Roller Co.'s Plasma Coatings division has launched production at a new factory in Shanghai, China.
The plant primarily will produce the plasma coatings line for its growing group of U.S.-based customers in China. It will also eventually target the firm's traditional industrial converting customer base, including the tire, packaging, film, plastics, foil and steel industries.
Plasma coatings are used on rollers used in the rubber and plastics industry along with parts for the oil and gas segment.
The expansion initiative was led by former Larry Vogus, the former chief financial officer of the company, who died suddenly in his Shanghai apartment a few weeks before the factory start-up.
