TRELLEBORG, Sweden—Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. has developed a tractor tire engineered for the severe field conditions of sugar cane farming.
The tire and wheel system maker said the 710/70R38 TM800 SugarCane is designed to handle high torque and load transmission. It features a bead width increased by 12 percent to withstand the stress of severe farming conditions. The profile of the tire's tread lugs has been strengthened to enhance tread resistance, Trelleborg said.
Lorenzo Ciferri, marketing director for agricultural and forestry tires at TWS, said the Trelleborg TM800 SugarCane tire "is the result of years of experience and research in sugar cane fields. For example, to cope effectively with sugar cane stubble, the profile of the tire lug's base is significantly smoother and more rounded when compared to a conventional tractor tire."
Trelleborg said the product will be targeted primarily at sugar cane harvesting operations in Central and South America.
