LONDON—RubberCon, an annual global rubber conference arranged through the International Rubber Conference Organization, has called for abstracts for papers to be presented at the 2014 event in Manchester, England.
The organizers said papers are invited that explore a range of topics arranged into two parallel themes: advanced engineering and modelling of rubber; and materials' developments.
The first theme deals with rubber materials at microstructural level, as well as rubber materials subject to a range of static, dynamic, time-dependent or cyclic loading conditions. The theme also includes papers on the failure of rubber products from effects such as abrasion, aging or fatigue, and those on the manufacture of rubber products, including the rheology of polymers during mixing, molding or extrusion.
The second theme looks at novel polymers, or fillers and additives that can enhance the performance of rubbers, as well as new insights into the detailed mechanisms of fillers reinforcement. This theme also covers recycling initiatives and engineering solutions to meet future legislation.
Interested parties are asked to submit their abstract of less than 250 words at the IOM3 RubberCon website by Sept. 30.
