MIRAMAR, Fla.—Simtec Silicone Parts L.L.C. finalized its corporate move to its new manufacturing facility in Miramar. The company was previously headquartered in Madison, Wisc.
Simtec said it chose Miramar over Madison because the location would maximize the benefits to its customers. The company also favored Miramar's close proximity to three international airports, a seaport, available workforce, tax incentives and a favorable climate.
The expansion allowed Simtec to add production units to manufacture liquid silicone rubber and LSR 2-Shot components in addition to top-of-the-line equipment to its QA laboratory and mold construction and maintenance shop.
Company president Enrique Camacho said Simtec's new operation is one of the most modern of its kind in the world.
Simtec, formed in 2002, is a custom manufacturer of LSR parts and LSR 2-Shot components, from concept to full production, for medical device, cosmetic, consumer goods, food and beverage, appliance, technology, industrial, home entertainment and automotive industries worldwide.
Simtec's new facility is 80,000 square feet, more than three times the amount of space it had in Madison. More than half of the work force of 50 has relocated to Florida.
