HANOVER, Germany—ContiTech A.G. is investing about $9.8 million to expand its Dolne Vestenice, Slovakia, production plant in a project that also will include the addition of a new research and development facility.
More than 43,000 square feet will be added to the factory, which produces parts for the automotive, sealing systems chassis and vibration control markets. The company did not give further details about the R&D center.
In addition to the plant expansion and new center, access roads leading to the facility have been expanded as part of the project, the firm said.
The expansion allows ContiTech to focus all of its production at one factory in Slovakia "and create capacity for additional business," said Karl Armbrecht, technical director at the facility.
