AKRON—The deadline to register for the ACS Rubber Division's two July courses and receive a hotel discount is June 24.
The Rubber Division will conduct both courses at the Hilton Garden Inn, Ayrsley, in Charlotte, N.C.
The first course, called the "Molding of Rubber," will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 16. The course, taught by consultant RJ DelVecchio, will examine the main processes in the industry, the forming and vulcanization of rubber products by the use of molds, as well as the major variations of the molding process.
Cost is $600 for members, $650 for non-members and $150 for student/emeritus attendees.
The second course, "Rubber Bonding—Intro to Application," will be July 17-18. The first day will examine the history, evolution and test methods for rubber bonding, while the second day includes a more detailed look at the process as well as surface preparations for optimal bond strength.
Cost of the two-day course, also taught by DelVecchio, is $925 for members, $975 for non-members and $250 for student/emeritus attendees.
Fees also must be paid by June 24 in order to receive a hotel discount.
