HOUSTON—GHX Industrial L.L.C. has purchased the assets of distributor Flowline Components Inc. and Flowline OEM Group Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Flowline was founded in 1988 by Larry Blackburn and Greg Johnston, and operates branches in Baltimore and Greencastle, Pa., as a value-added distributor of fabricated hose, maintenance and repair operations parts, and other related products.
The firm concentrates on such areas as hydraulic and pneumatic fluid conveyance products, custom assembly, kitting solutions and vendor managed inventory, according to GHX President Richard Harrison. Its end markets traditionally have been in agriculture, construction, and food and beverage OEMs.
"Expanding our service area throughout the U.S. and Canada is an ongoing strategic focus for GHX, and the acquisition of the Flowline locations complements our already strong North American presence," said Darrell Cole, president and CEO of the United Distribution Group, parent of GHX.
Harrison said Flowline management would remain with the company, with Blackburn responsible for sales, marketing and customer relations, and Johnston continuing to focus on operations and inventory management.
