NOVI, Mich.—Cooper Standard Holdings Inc. was one of 47 suppliers honored as a top-performing global supplier by the Ford Motor Co. at the 15th annual World Excellence Awards ceremony.
According to Ford, suppliers who received this award helped to minimize production disruptions and exhibited courage, strength and leadership during a time of hardship. Cooper Standard received the Go Further award for its contributions to recovery after the fire at the Evonik Industries A.G. cyclododecatriene plant in Marl, Germany.
“Our global team showed tremendous dedication, customer focus and creativity during the crisis,” said Jeffrey Edwards, chairman and CEO of Cooper Standard, a supplier of systems and components for the automotive industry.
After the fire, which occurred in late March 2012, Cooper Standard assembled a global team of sales, engineering, purchasing, quality, logistics and operations experts to work closely with customers, suppliers and industry peers in an effort to avoid interruptions in vehicle production. As a result of the global effort, Ford said, Cooper Standard met all of its customers' needs following the event.
