WOLSZTYN, Poland—Firestone Industrial Products Co. L.L.C. said it has begun a $2.7 million expansion project at its Wolsztyn facility. The project began on May 6.
The Wolsztyn facility is one of six that manufactures air springs for the global market. The expansion will add nearly 40,400 square feet and provide increased storage capacity, according to the company.
Piotr Bogaczynski, managing director of Firestone Industrial Products Europe, said the expansion will allow the company to respond to customers quickly since it is located near the firm's technical center in the Netherlands.
"The added space in the plant will allow us to store extra inventory, enabling us to ship directly to our customers," said Plant Manager Pawel Gajda. "With the improved delivery times that will result from this capability, we will be well positioned to support both existing and new business."
