BOWIE, Md.—The Tire Industry Association has released the Spanish-language version of its Basic Earthmover Tire Service training program, with the help of Michelin North America Inc.
Michelin approached TIA with a request for an ETS program in Spanish, the association said. When told such a program would not be available for a few years, Michelin translated the English-language ETS program at no charge to TIA and gave the masters to the association to offer to the tire industry.
The ETS program outlines the minimum skills and safety guidelines for servicing one-piece, three-piece, five-piece and double-gutter off-the-road assemblies, TIA said. It consists of a three-hour DVD and 15-module workbook, with a 100-question final exam.
"This is yet another example of TIA working together with Michelin to add another level of training and education for tire service technicians," said TIA President Randy Groh.
