CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.—IPEG Inc., parent company of two plastics processing equipment manufacturers, has acquired rubber shredder manufacturer Republic Machine for an undisclosed amount.
IPEG plans to operate Louisville-based Republic Machine as a division of IPEG subsidiary Rapid Granulator AB, a manufacturer of plastic granulator machinery. The Republic Machine brand name will be retained, as will Republic Machine's current management, IPEG said.
“One of the goals for IPEG and Rapid Granulator is to be the global leader in the overall size-reduction market, and this acquisition is an important step to realizing that vision,” said Rapid Granulator CEO Kirk Winstead.
IPEG is also the parent company of Conair Inc., producer of auxiliary equipment for plastics processing. Altogether IPEG has sales in more than 120 countries, IPEG said.
Republic Machine sells a full line of single-shaft shredders used in a wide range of size-reduction and recycling applications, including plastic, wood, carpeting and medical waste as well as rubber.
